Whether you are looking to get care of your dog, cat, or any other pet, it is crucial to get a knowledgable and experienced pet sitter to care for your furbabies while you are on vacation.

What to look for in a dog sitter:

When looking for a dog sitter, consider their experience with dogs, references from previous clients, their availability, reliability, and whether they’re knowledgeable about dog care, including any special needs your dog might have. It’s also important to see how well the pet sitters connect with your dog during a meet and greet.

I. particular, if you live in a small town, you may find it hard to find reliable professional pet sitters because there is not a lot of selection. So doing the right research will be essential!

Here are some questions you might consider asking a potential dog sitter, and they are among the most frequent topics we discuss with our new clients here at Fofo Pet Sitting in Wetumpka, Alabama:

1. How often do you give your guest dogs potty breaks and meal times?
2. What is your experience with dogs?
3. How do you typically communicate with the pet owner while they’re away?
4. Can you provide a trial visit to see how you interact with my dog before finalizing the arrangement?
5. How do you handle exercise and playtime for dogs you care for?

And a wise, trustworthy, and professional pet sitter should be happy to answer all of these questions and anything else you would want to ask.
